Operator BetBull has announced it will be closing down next month.
The website announced its decision to close in emails to customers, on Twitter, and in a banner on the BetBull website that reads: “We’ve made the difficult decision to close down our operations”.
No reason for the closure was shared, but a new FAQ from BetBull has encouraged customers to withdraw their remaining funds between now and the website’s closure on July 3rd, 2022.
According to the FAQ, BetBull has already stopped accepting new registrants and deposits from existing customers, and from tomorrow (June 24th), the only activity customers can conduct on the website will be withdrawals, as playing games will be prohibited.
Open bets on events that will be completed on or before June 26th will remain active and will be settled as usual, but open bets set to be completed after June 26th will be voided and the stake amount returned to players’ accounts.
BetBull explains that if remaining balances aren’t withdrawn before the website’s closure, BetBull will attempt to return player funds and attempt to refund any account balance through the payment method stored in the player account, a process that can take up to 21 days.
BetBull was a mobile casino and sportsbook that was operated by BetBull Games Limited and held licences from the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority.
The site was founded in 2015 by Sadok Kohen with the backing of several investors, including the former CEOs of Bwin and 888.
At its prime, BetBull offered a slew of sports betting opportunities as well as a diverse portfolio of mobile casino games from operators like NetEnt, Evolution, Red Tiger Gaming, and others.
News of BetBull’s closure comes as numerous other operators and casinos close their doors or leave the market. Mansion Group closed its MansionBet sportsbook business in March to focus solely on its online and mobile casino operations.
Meanwhile, we’ve seen operators like Stakers, ComeOn Casino, Novibet, and others leave the UK market or surrender their gambling licences.
