Developer Yggdrasil has launched its latest video slot Florageddon! with a brand-new game mechanic.
The new game is part of Yggdrasil GEMs (Game Engagement Mechanic) and the first DuoMax title. It’s available now at Yggdrasil-partnered mobile casinos, just in time for Halloween.
Florageddon! uses a 5×3 grid with 243 paylines, and it has an RTP of 96% with high volatility, so you’re more likely to make infrequent, large wins.
The game requires a bet of between £0.20 and £100, and its symbols include various monstrous plants, fire hydrants, street lamps, clocks, road signs, and the usual A, K, Q, and J symbols.
The Florageddon! slot comes with several special features, including a Dropdown mechanic, where all symbols that form a winning combination are removed from the reels. New symbols fill the empty spaces and a Wild symbol is added, giving you a chance to trigger another win. This continues the feature until no more wins are made.
The game has two sets of Multiplier carousels. The value to the left is applied to left-to-right wins, while the value to the right is applied to right-to-left wins. For both ways wins, the left and right multipliers are added together.
Every win made increases the Multiplier, with the left and right Multipliers increasing by wins made from corresponding ways. Wins made both ways increase both Multipliers at the same time.
If you fill the dropdown counter above the reels, you earn a special reward on your next dropdown. In the base game, the meter is filled by four consecutive dropdowns, while the Free Spins mode only requires three with progress not reset between spins.
The special rewards can include Double Wilds, where two wild symbols are added instead of just one; Multiplier Boost, where a 10x Multiplier is added to both Multiplier Carousels; Wild Stack, where three Wild symbols are added to a random reel; and Extra Life, where all symbols in a non-winning dropdown are removed and replaced by new symbols.
Landing three Scatter symbols in the base game triggers the Free Spins mode with up to 11 spins available. The Free Spins mode starts with a 1x Multiplier on both sides and it increases with each win and does not reset for the entire duration.
When you trigger the Free Spins mode, you can gamble them from one level to the next, up to a maximum of 16 spins from 11. If you lose the gamble, you lose your spins and return to the base game.
Finally, the Florageddon slot comes with a Golden Bet, which you can enable for a price. It reduces the consecutive dropdowns from four to three to win a special reward.
