The Dallas Cowboys have just announced a partnership with WinStar World Casino and Resort, a historic moment as the NFL franchise will be the first one to have an official casino designation.
Although sports betting remains illegal in Oklahoma, the US state where WinStar is based out of, the NFL has relaxed its rules and started to allow teams to accept advertising money from casino operators. However, direct relationships are still not permitted.

The deal was made official at the Dallas Cowboys – WinStar World Casino Press Conference and later the team also published a tweet to their Twitter account.

The U.S. market is slowly opening up for sports betting firms and casinos since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a federal ban on state-sponsored sports betting in a landmark decision. New Jersey is the leading state to legalised gambling and more states are expected to following in the next few months.
Politicians, including Senator Chuck Schumer, have been working hard on a framework that will guide the entire industry at a federal level, which is expected to be supported by the major sports associations including the NFL, MLB, NBA and the PGA Golf Tour.
