Rapper Drake is reported to have blown about $200,000 in a casino in Atlantic City.
The 31-year-old singer was in the New Jersey gaming hub for a brief nightclub gig. His Aubrey & the Three Migos tour has just stopped in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
It is reported that Drake and his entourage visited a private high-rollers area after the rapper played a five-song set at Daer Nightclub inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
“Drake took one look and decided to go gambling,” said an insider in Atlantic City. “He got the itch”.
According to the source, Drake proceeded to stage a private party in the VIP gambling area. He even asked the casino staff to open up the Sugar Factory restaurant at the gaming venue. The singer and his friends were served with mini burgers, chicken fingers, French fries as well as a cocktail dedicated to Drake, which was made of Drake’s Virginia Black whiskey, peach puree, sweet tea, Sour Patch peach gummies sweets and cotton candy.
An onlooker revealed that the rapper remained at his private gaming tables throughout the early hours, spending approximately $200,000 in total.
Nevertheless, the gambling spree is not going to do much damage to his finances. Reports suggest that Drake earns around $300,000 for private shows. His Daer Nightclub gig may already have covered the money he lost.
He was an hour late on stage for the gig, which was originally scheduled at 2 am. The hitmaker apologised to his fans, who had been waiting for hours to see his performance.
