An English couple living in Glendale Gardens, Leigh, have won £30,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery’s Street Prize.
Jed and Jan Champion were thrilled to find out they had won the massive prize.
“This is unbelievable. I’m absolutely gobsmacked and so surprised to win such a large amount of money. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.” Jed described.
The money came in perfect timing for the lucky couple. Jed has just turned 65 and is about to retire. With the £30,000 winning, it is now easier for the couple to execute their plan to spend more time with their family in Australia after Jed’s retirement.
“My family emigrated to Australia seven years ago and we have two granddaughters over there. So with my retirement coming up, myself and Jan are hoping to spend more time over there.”
“This win will definitely help us do that now.”
The cheque was presented to the Champions by an ambassador of the lottery.

“I’m over the moon for both of the winners who have picked up a prize in Leigh,” said Jeff Brazier, former Canvey footballer and the ambassador who presented the couple with their cheque.
He claimed that he had enjoyed meeting Jed and Jan and wished them an incredible time with their family in Australia.
People’s Postcode Lottery is committed to donating at least 32% from each of their ticket to charity. As of today, players of the lottery have already raised £330 million for over 4,000 good causes across the United Kingdom.
Southend Mencap, for instance, received £20,000 in 2017 to provide music education to children and adults suffering from learning disabilities.
