ComeOn Casino has announced it is shutting down and leaving the UK market.
The online casino, which has been operating in the United Kingdom since 2014, has announced it is officially leaving the UK market in order to concentrate on “favourable markets”.
ComeOn Casino will be shutting down in the United Kindom as the operator decides to focus on markets including Denmark, Germany, Poland and Sweden.
As a result of this decision, ComeOn Casino’s sister sites Mobile Bet and Get Lucky will also be closing in the UK, though no date has been provided yet.
In a statement, ComeOn Casino’s Chief Executive Lahcene Merzoug, said: “UK is a very mature and highly competitive market and the financial risks are big. We have never had a non-compliance breach, but we’ve seen competitors being fined big numbers and that creates uncertainty.
“At the same time the UK license has lost its symbolic value. Before you almost had to have one to be looked upon as a credible company. Today we hold licenses in many European countries and given that the UK has never been a big market for us, it’s a wise move to put our focus elsewhere.”
As mentioned, it’s currently unknown when ComeOn Casino will be leaving the UK market and the firm has yet to announce what will be happening to current players.
The news comes just weeks after Vera & John and InterCasino announced that it too was leaving the UK market. It was announced in early August that its parent company JackpotJoy was shutting down its UK-based websites and no longer accepting no registrations.
Earlier this year, online casino SuperLenny ceased all gambling operations and relaunched as an online casino affiliate. Since then, several other online casinos have closed its doors including Casino Heroes, Casino Room and Winner Casino.
Back in June, MaxEnt Limited casino operator had its license revoked by the UK Gambling Commission but has since prevented the closure of its websites by appealing the decision.
