A new Polish sportsbook is set to launch in the UK.
Sports betting website STS is set to become the first-ever Polish sportsbook to launch in the UK after obtaining a gambling license from the UK Gambling Commission this month, new reports reveal.
The sportsbook firm, which allows customers to wager on sports games and events, already has licenses for jurisdiction in Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Slovakia, Andorra, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Malta, San Marino, and Gibraltar but will soon be adding the UK to its list.
The news comes after STS struck a deal with software developer BetConstruct which has agreed to supply STS with services to run both betting and casino content including eSports, live and RNG casino, virtual sports, and sports betting.
STS CEO Mateusz Juroszek said in a statement: “We are not only the largest Polish bookmaking company but the first domestic company in this industry that operates outside the domestic market.
“Obtaining a license in the United Kingdom is the result of a consistently implemented international expansion strategy. We are always looking at other prospective foreign markets.”
STS’s announcement comes weeks after popular online casino Videoslots announced that it had partnered with Betradar to launch a new sportsbook in 2020. According to the firm, Videoslots will use Betradar’s Integrated Trading Solutions (ITS) to run a sportsbook.
More online casinos have begun to launch sports betting services across the UK this year. Mr Play Casino launched its sportsbook back in September, becoming one of the first Aspire Global white-label online casinos to offer the service.
Meanwhile, MT SecureTrade white-label casino sites Guts, Metal Casino and Rizk all partnered with Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) to launch sportsbooks on their casino sites too. Rizk was the first of the three, implementing a sportsbook back in 2018 before Metal Casino and Guts implemented similar services this year.
News of the launch comes just days after Rolla Casino announced that it will be closing its site to UK customers on January 16th, following in the footsteps of other now-closed online gambling sites SuperLenny, ComeOn, PlayFrank, 1XBet, and many others.
