Developer AvatarUX has announced a brand new video slot inspired by Japanese art.
The brand-new casino game is the tenth title in the studio’s PopWins series, and the game will launch on May 12th with all partnered mobile operators and content aggregators.
Titled MonkeyPop, the slot is inspired by the Ukiyo-e woodblock prints and sumi-e ink art of MonkeyPop. It uses a 5×3 layout with 486 paylines that pay in both directions, and the game has an RTP of 96.33%.
The slot also has medium volatility, which means you’re given an equal chance to make both big and small wins. It requires a bet of between £0.2 and £100 per spin, and its symbols include Wild symbols, various monkey symbols, and the traditional A, K, Q, J, and 10 symbols too.
The MonkeyPop slot comes with numerous special features. Since it’s based on the PopWins mechanic, each winning symbol is replaced by two symbols to increase each reel’s height up to six symbols in the base game and seven in the Free Spins mode.
When all reels are unlocked in the base game, a random number of low-paying symbols are removed from the reels and you are given two Free Spins with a Multiplier of between 1x and 3x, which grows with each win.
Landing three or more Bonus symbols in the base game triggers the Free Spins mode, which starts at between three and five symbols tall and can grow up to seven symbols tall.
Before the Free Spins mode, you’ll enter a Reward Reel screen where four rewards are randomly drawn from a wheel up to 10 spins, 6,250+ paylines, up to 5x Multiplier, and up to +5x Multiplier growth.
During the Free Spins, when three Bonus symbols are collected, a high-paying Monkey symbol visible on the counter will be upgraded to a Gilded version, increasing its Multiplier value. After this, the Bonus Counter is reset, and a new symbol is displayed.
Speaking about the new slot, AvatarUX CEO Nicola Longmuir said: “MonkeyPop combines our vaunted PopWins mechanic with an incredibly detailed artistic style.
“We rebuilt our win presentation animations and created a completely new set of effects, all to ensure a very distinctive style that evokes the best of Japanese art.”
Longmuir continued: “AvatarUX is always on the lookout to bring innovative concepts to market, from merchants to art style, and we think MonkeyPop combines a multitude of factors to be a unique gaming experience.
“We are extremely pleased with MonkeyPop and the beautiful art and design our team has created makes this a truly outstanding game.”
Earlier this month, AvatarUX partnered with Yggdrasil to release its Lollipop slot, also based on the PopWins mechanic. The studio also partnered with Yggdrasil for other slots like PiggyPop, PapayaPop, and PopRocks too.
