Pragmatic Play has announced the launch of its latest video slot, Release The Kraken 2.
The game is a sequel to the studio’s Release The Kraken video slot, which tasks you with wading through the ocean to uncover secrets and riches.
Release The Kraken 2 uses a 5×4 grid layout with 20 paylines, extended to 40 in the Free Spins mode. It also has an RTP of 96.01% with high volatility, so you’re more likely to make large, infrequent wins when playing.
The game requires a bet of between £0.20 and £100 per spin, and its symbols include sharks, puffer fish, angler fish, eels, the mythical Kraken, and the usual royal card symbols too.
Release The Kraken 2 comes with several special features, including Wild symbols that substitute for all symbols except Bonus symbols. What’s more, the base game has three features that can randomly trigger.
The first is the Wild Respin, which is triggered when four or more Wild symbols randomly land on the reels. When this happens, the game begins a respin mode where all Wild symbols move to a random position on the reels while the other symbols spin. The game pays all winning combinations after each respin, and if more Wild symbols land, additional respins are awarded until there are no more Wild symbols.
There’s also the Shifting Stacked Wild feature, which sees an expanded Stacked Wild symbol appear randomly on the second, third, and fourth reels. The Shifting Wild symbols cover entire reels and for each position moved, a Multiplier is increased by 1x. After all Shifting Wild symbols are moved fully into the screen, winning combinations are paid and multiplied by the sum of all Multipliers.
The third feature is the Guaranteed Win, which is triggered on a random spin that results in no win. When this happens, the Kraken can appear to change the symbols to an outcome of 20x to 60x your total bet. After the spin, three Bonus symbols can randomly appear to award the Free Spins mode.
Landing three or more Bonus symbols triggers the Free Spins mode. Before the round starts, you’ll have the choice to play a mini bonus game to win a combination of spins and a Multiplier depending on the number of Bonus symbols that triggered the feature. For three Bonus symbols, you can play with between four spins and a 2x Multiplier and 15 spins and a 4x Multiplier. For four Bonus symbols, you can play with between five spins and a 2x Multiplier and 20 spins and a 6x Multiplier. Finally, for five Bonus symbols, you can play with between six spins and a 2x Multiplier and 20 spins and a 10x Multiplier.
During the Free Spins mode, any win is multiplied by the Multiplier won from the mini bonus game. The feature also has an expanded selection of 40 paylines, and any Wild symbol that lands during the feature remains on the screen until the end of the round. If a Golden Wild symbol lands, it increases the Multiplier by 1x. The Free Spins cannot be retriggered.
Finally, the game provides you with the ability to purchase entry into the Free Spins mode. There are two options; Standard Free Spins with three to five Bonus symbols for 100x your bet or the VIP Free Spins with five Bonus symbols for 250x your bet.
