Leading gambling operator Unibet has launched a groundbreaking new social media betting tool known as BetShare.
The new tool is available only to Unibet players, and it allows them to edit the appearance of their bet slip through four customisation features, including backgrounds with responsible gambling messaging, text, paint, and emojis, and share their bet slips on social media.
According to Gambling Insider, the tool was designed to “create a sense of community” among players. It’s launched in all markets Unibet operates in, and the tool can be accessed in the ‘My Bets’ section of players’ Unibet accounts.
Kindred Group’s Chief Product Officer Erik Backlund said in a statement: “Unibet is the first major sports betting brand to bring a sharing tool of this kind to market. The advantage of our players becoming content creators has become a fascinating topic of discussion at Kindred.
“Our players are increasingly looking to share experiences and bets in our ever-expanding digital landscape and we are glad to be able to offer them this tool right ahead of the Euros.”
Johannes Nijboer, the Head of Sportbook Business Development at Kindred Group, added: “This is truly an innovative and exciting tool. We are rolling it out continuously and the acknowledgement so far has been fantastic.
“However, the product development journey does not stop here. We are incredibly excited to continue the development process with our players and to ultimately craft a tool that sets Unibet apart.”
The news comes after Unibet announced a partnership with the European Association for the Study of Gambling (EASG) to promote an app designed to help gamblers spot the early signs of addiction.
Meanwhile, brick-and-mortar and online gambling operator Flutter Entertainment has announced a partnership with Missing People, which the firm says will help support the organisations important work with missing adults and their families.
As part of the partnership, Flutter Entertain’s brands, including Betfair, Sky Bet, PokerStars UK, and Paddy Power, will all promote the charity and its campaigns, titled #TogetherforMissing.
According to CasinoBeats, the #TogetherforMissing partnership has launched with a £150,000 donation from Flutter Entertainment to support the charity for the following 12 months and to provide opportunities for Flutter colleagues to get involved with the charity’s work.
Peter Jackson, Flutter Entertainment CEO, said in a statement: “We are delighted to build on our partnership with Missing Poeple and come #TogetherforMissing following a year that has seen such extraordinary challenges.
“The statistics around missing people in the UK are stark with 1 in 500 adults going missing every year and over one million people affected by a disappearance.”
He continued: “The issue of people going missing is one which will sadly affect some of Flutter’s customers and colleagues at some point, so we hope our partnership can help continue the brilliant efforts of Missing People.”
Jo Youle, the CEO of Missing People, added: “After our successful campaign with Paddy Power last year, we are really looking forward to working with Flutter over the next year to build awareness of our services for people in crisis.
“Flutter’s target audience means they are in a unique position to ensure that together we can engage with a large group of men aged 18-39 who are at the highest risk of going missing. Through our partnership we want to raise awareness of the issue, let more people know where to turn, and ask for the public’s help in the search for missing adults – something families we support have told us is especially important right now.”
Also this week, leading game developer Pragmatic Play has confirmed the launch of a brand new video slot and has announced its received approval to launch its live casino content in Colombia.
Pragmatic Play’s brand new slot is Dragon: Hot Hold And Spin, an Asian-inspired game that uses a 3×5 layout and offers players 5,000xtheir stake for big wins.
The game comes with numerous special features, including the Hold and Spin mechanic, which can be unlocked by any three types of coin symbols; Diamond, Silver, and Gold, all of which hold random values when they land on the game’s reels.
When the Hold and Spin mechanic is triggered, the coin symbols are locked to the reels, and all other symbols are removed. Players are then given four spins to try and land additional coin symbols, and when all positions are filled, all values will be added to the player’s winnings, and the Big Money Wheel Bonus is triggered.
The Big Money Wheel Bonus offers random prizes based on the values that the player lands. Prizes trigger additional spins, but blank values end the feature.
Yossi Barzely, the Chief Business Development Officer at Pragmatic Play, said in a statement: “Dragon Hot Hold And Spin is an innovative slot that puts a fresh spin on the Asian-themed symbols used in titles common for the genre.
“This title creates an experience that is both visually engaging and stimulating for the player, while offering a huge win potential, through the thrilling Hold and Spin mechanic.”
In addition to launching a new slot, Pragmatic Play has also received certification from compliance laboratory GLI to launch its live casino content in Colombia.
The developer’s top-performing live content has been certified for Colombia, allowing players based in the country to play Pragmatic’s wide selection of live titles, including Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, Dragon Tiger, and more.
All of Pragmatic Play’s live casino games are streamed from the developer’s state-of-the-art studio in Romania and use the latest 4K video technology and audio systems with professionally trained dealers.
Victor Arias, the VP of Latin America at Pragmatic Play, said in a statement: “Having our products certified by GLI is as good a testament to their quality and demonstrates our integrity as a provider.
“Quite apart from being necessary for the games to be marketed in the region, it’s a sign that our operator partners and their players can rest assured they’re getting rock-solid products that are as high in quality as they are in player experience.
“We’re looking forward to seeing our live casino vertical make its way into the Colombian market and provide users with first-class entertainment.”
