Developer Play’n GO kick-started 2022 with the release of its new video slot, Captain Xeno’s Earth Adventure.
The brand new sci-fi game is based on the studio’s Dynamic Payways engine, and it follows Captain Xeno and his crew who, following their latest conquest, are on the run and have no choice but to land on the closest planet – Earth – where they must fix their ship before being discovered by the planet’s inhabitants.
According to Play’n GO, Captain Xeno’s Earth Adventure uses a 5×3 layout with up to 32,768 paylines, and the game has an RTP of 94.2% with high variance, which means you’re much more likely to make infrequent large wins over regular small wins.
The slot requires a bet of between £0.20 and £100 per spin, and its symbols include Captain Xeno and crew Chief Mechanic Filla, Boon, Drox, Atom, as well as the traditional A, K, Q, J, and 10 symbols.
Play’n GO’s new slot comes with several special features. The main gameplay mechanic is the Dynamic Payways engine, where the game starts with 1,024 paylines that can be expanded to up to 32,768 paylines. The Dynamic Payways feature works by splitting winning symbols to create more paylines.
In addition to the above, the Captain Xeno’s Earth Adventure slot comes with wild symbols that substitute for all symbols except the scatter, and it has scatter symbols that can trigger the slot’s free spins mode.
Landing three, four or five scatter symbols triggers eight, ten or 12 free spins. During the free spins mode, all scatter symbols that land on the reels are collected by the scatter collector, and additional spins are awarded when each upgrade has been reached. Collecting scatter symbols during the feature helps to upgrade the number of splits per symbol for more wins.
If the above isn’t enough, there are other special features that can be randomly triggered to change gameplay. They include the electric shock where one symbol type is selected to become a split symbol, the emergency wilds feature where up to five wild symbols are added to the reels, and the engine recharge where two scatter symbols are added to the reels.

The launch of Captain Xeno’s Earth Adventure comes as game developers gear up to start releasing their first games of 2022, including Pragmatic Play’s Magician’s Secrets and Wild Depths slots, Yggdrasil’s Money Mariachi Infinity Reels, and Microgaming and Stormcraft Studios’ Agent Jane Blonde Max Volume slot.
The release of the new slot also comes after developer Play’n GO experienced tremendous success last year with the launch of dozens of slots, including Hooligan Hustle, KISS: Rock The Reels, Moon Princess: Christmas Kingdom, Merlin And The Ice Queen Morgana, Rich Wilde And The Wandering City, and The Last Sundown.
