Gambling operator Esports Entertainment Group (EEG) has announced that its SportNation and RedZone brands will leave the UK market by the end of November 2022.
The two combined sportsbook and casino websites will close on November 30th, 2022. EEG announced the closures on each brand’s social accounts and respective websites.
In a detailed FAQ, EEG has confirmed that bets due to settle after November 20th will be voided and the stake returned to player accounts, and any unused free bets, bonus funds or reward points must be redeemed before November 30th, at which point they’ll be forfeited.
Players will also have full access to their accounts until November 30th. On and after that date, players will no longer be able to place bets or play casino games, but will have until December 7th, 2022, to withdraw any remaining balance with withdrawals processed as normal.
If the remaining funds aren’t withdrawn before December 7th, SportNation and RedZone have asked players to request a withdrawal by contacting the casino’s customer support team at [email protected] and [email protected].
EEG has stated the reason it’s closing the SportNation and RedZone brands in the UK is for a “variety of reasons”, including the “economics of operating a small gaming business in the UK market”.
The operator joins the numerous other groups that have pulled out of the United Kingdom, including Bet-at-home.com and Novibet.
Meanwhile, numerous other brands have had their gambling licenses suspended in the UK, such as LEBOM and bookmaker Goldchip.
The above suspensions and closures all come as the gambling industry in the UK faces turmoil as the repeatedly delayed review of the Gambling Act 2005 looms, with numerous changes expected as the outcome of the review.
