Developer Yggdrasil has partnered with Jade Rabbit Studios to launch their latest slot, Steam Spin.
The brand new casino game is heavily inspired by traditional fruit slot machines but is set in the Wild West at an old railway station. The Steam Spin slot uses a 3×3 layout with nine paylines and an RTP of 96%, and it is highly volatile, which means you’re more likely to make infrequent large wins over regular small ones.
Steam Spin requires a bet of between £0.10 and £100 per spin, and the symbols include gold, train conductor hats, bells, suitcases, and fruit like pears, plums, lemons, and cherries too.
Steam Spin is filled with several special features, including Wild symbols that substitute for all symbols except Scatter symbols. There are also Wild Multipliers that substitute for symbols and add a Multiplier of between 1x and 10x the bet, and charges the respective meter above the reel.
Meanwhile, landing three Scatter symbols activates the Red Hot SteamSpin feature, which is played the a 3×1 reel above the main game. Any win made on the reel is Multiplied 33x and once the win has been paid, the reel reverts back to the original game.
The game also has a Respin, which is triggered by landing a Wild symbol. When this happens, the reel locks and is nudged down by one position, followed by one or more Respins until the Wild symbol disappears from view.
In addition to the above, the SteamSpin feature can be triggered in the base game. Each position on the rectangular 3×1 SteamSpin reel above the main game is locked, but landing a Wild symbol on a corresponding reel in the main game unlocks the same SteamSpin reel above.
Once all three SteamSpin reels have been unlocked, Multiplier Wilds of between 1x and 10x will land on the main game and add the Multiplier to the corresponding SteamSpin meter above. Reaching a 10x value on any of the meters triggers the SteamSpin bonus. The bonus consists of a single spin that is Multiplied by the total accumulated from the Multiplier Wilds. Once paid, the bonus ends and the ordinary game continues.
Finally, the Steam Spin slot has a Bonus Buy mechanic in which you can instantly activate the SteamSpin Bonus for 38x your bet or activate the Red Hot SteamSpin Bonus by paying 55x your wager.
