Developer Yggdrasil partnered with AvatarUX over the weekend to launch its brand-new video slot, Lollipop.
The new game is built on the popular PopWins mechanic, in which reels expand in height up to five symbols tall, and winning symbols are replaced by two more symbols. The game also includes the new ScatterPops mechanic, which is triggered during the Free Spins mode.
Lollipop uses a 5×3 layout with up to 118,098 paylines and an RTP of 95.80% with high volatility, which means you’re more likely to make infrequent large wins over regular small ones.
The game requires a bet of between £0.20 and £100 per spin, and its symbols include candy canes, stars, hearts, burgers, cakes, teddy bears, an orange slice, a pink candy, a blue square, a purple candy, and more.
Lollipop comes with several special features, including the PopWins mechanic in which each winning symbol is replaced by two symbols, increasing the reel’s height. This is repeated as long as there are more wins, and the reels can be expanded up to five symbols in height in the base game and seven in the Free Spins mode.
Whenever a reel is unlocked, you’re awarded a 2x Multiplier for the first reel and then an additional Multiplier for every other unlocked reel to a maximum of 6x. Once all re-spins are complete, the final win is multiplied by all unlocked Multipliers.
Meanwhile, collecting three or more Scatter symbols in the base game triggers the Free Spins mode, which can start at three, four or five symbols tall. Unlocking reels do not reset between each spin in the feature, and they upgrade all Scatter Rewards on the same reel by one level.
If the heart symbol appears during the Free Spins mode, it adds one or two lives to the Lives Counter. It then increases reel height, becomes Sticky, and is held for the duration of the Free Spins mode.
Scatter symbols can upgrade to higher values during the Free Spins mode by landing a number of the same value Scatter symbols. Finally, before playing the Free Spins, you’ll have the option to gamble your winnings.
