Developers Yggdrasil and Peter & Sons have partnered to release their latest video slot, the demon-themed Xibalba.
The brand new game takes place in the mythical land of Xibalba that is ruled by the 12 demon lords – the gods of death. Yggdrasil states that men are summoned, but they fall as “the roads to Xibalba are filled with deceit and the gods full of treacherous trickery.”
Xibalba uses a 5×3 layout with 7,776 paylines and an RTP of 96.10%. The slot has high volatility, which means you’re more likely to make infrequent large wins over regular small ones, and it requires a bet of between £0.10 and £50 per spin.
The Xibalba has Wild symbols that only appear on the second, third, and fourth reels. These symbols substitute for all other symbols except the Scatter symbol. What’s more, there are golden Growing Wild symbols that are not removed during Cascades. When they appear, all of the symbols above them are replaced by Wild symbols.
There are Cascades in the Xibalba slot, which are triggered on all wins. When triggered, the winning symbols are removed, and the symbols above them fall down to fill in their gaps. If these new symbols create a new winning combination, the Cascades continue until no new wins are made. Each new Cascade adds a 1x Multiplier to all wins with no limit. Finally, with each new Cascade, an extra symbol lands on the reels to grow them by up to six more rows.
During Cascades, landing two Scatter symbols trigger the Gigantor feature, where a respin is awarded and symbols of either 2×2 or 3×3 in size land on the reels.
Meanwhile, landing three Scatter symbols on the reels during Cascades triggers 15 free spins, which are played with all the game’s features. During the Free Spins mode, the Multiplier is reset to 1x and increases with each Cascade with no limit. Landing three Scatters during the feature retriggers the Free Spins.
Finally, in certain jurisdictions, you can purchase the Free Spins mode for a larger bet and earn 15 spins.

Xibalba is Yggdrasil’s second slot of 2022 and comes after the release of Money Mariachi Infinity Reels from ReelPlay. It also follows other Peter & Sons slots, including Valkyries and Monster Blox.
The launch of the game also comes after Yggdrasil released a slew of titles in 2021, including Bang Bang Games’ Jumbo Jellies, G Games’ Cthulhu, ReelPlay’s Age Of Beasts Infinity Reels, AvatarUX’s PopWins Piggy Pop,
